Responsibilities in your new role as an Electrical Maintenance Manager
As the Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Manager, you'll help keep everything running smoothly and reliably across all engineering disciplines. Your main tasks will include leading and developing a skilled maintenance team, creating and managing an effective planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule, rapidly responding to critical breakdowns, and ensuring production is restored quickly. You will oversee repairs and installations across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and refrigeration systems, ensuring equipment is safe, reliable and compliant.
You will maintain building and facility standards in line with health and safety requirements, source and procure parts, equipment and external contractor services within budget, and manage contractors on site. You will also work closely with the manager and site leadership to boost reliability, reduce downtime, drive efficiency, cost saving and continuous improvement.
Your personality, experience and qualifications
You’ll have experience in a similar role within manufacturing or food production, or a strong background in relevant maintenance work. You should bring excellent hands-on mechanical and electrical problem-solving skills, especially when working to tight timescales.
You will ideally hold a Degree, Diploma, 18th Edition, or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline (mechanical and electrical preferred). You'll also have a good knowledge of engineering best practices, compliance standards, budgeting, procurement and working with external contractors. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for motivating and developing your team.
But above all, we want someone with a positive, can-do attitude who is always keen to learn and grow.
We are looking for someone with an 18th edition certification, but if you are still progressing towards these requirements but are not quite there yet, please apply as you will still be considered.
