Role Overview
We are delighted to offer the position of Pharmacy Assistant Procurement and Goods In Assistant. This full‑time role is available following an internal promotion of the current postholder.
The position is based within the Inpatient Pharmacy Procurement Team and is primarily office‑based with occasional warehouse duties. Work may be required cross‑site between RPH and CDH, supporting the team’s mission to provide medication to patients in a timely manner.
Hours & Schedule
The core working hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, totaling 7.5 hours each day. Depending on bed capacity, additional hours may be required; any extra time will be compensated with pay or time off in lieu.
Key Responsibilities
* Generate and transmit orders to suppliers
* Reconcile invoices
* Receive stock and put it away
* File associated paperwork
* Communicate with suppliers and colleagues via telephone, email or face‑to‑face
* Use web‑based supplier catalogues and ordering systems
* Use pharmacy software, printers, and IT equipment
* Identify problem products and elevate to the relevant team
* Attend team meetings
* Follow all departmental and Trust policies and procedures
Requirements & Qualifications
Applicants must be able to prioritise work, remain calm under pressure, meet daily supplier deadlines, and be comfortable using a PC. A “right‑first‑time” approach, high volumes of data entry, and general office and warehouse duties are required. Candidates should be team players with excellent attention to detail, a can‑do attitude, strong organisational and communication skills, and a desire to contribute to service development. Previous experience in an office or warehouse setting is advantageous; full training and support will be provided.
