The post holder will work under the supervision of Dr Rory Chan to provide research support for the respiratory research group at the School of Medicine.
The Respiratory Research Group is a multidisciplinary team conducting clinical and translational research into lung conditions such as bronchiectasis, COPD and other chronic respiratory diseases. The team consists of clinicians, immunologists, microbiologists, cell biologists, nurses, allied health professionals and project managers.
Post holder will join a friendly, dynamic and successful research team, providing support to clinical studies and trials.
Responsibilities
* Provide effective and efficient research support to the respiratory research group
* Assist in the identification, screening and recruitment of eligible patients to studies
* Produce, collate and record accurate data on behalf of our research studies
* Perform clinical and physiological measurements on research participants as appropriate, including vital signs, height, weight, venepuncture and spirometry
* Obtain and process biological samples, such as blood and respiratory samples
* Enter data into research databases and Electronic Data Capture systems
* Assist in the review of research protocols, procedures and study files, contributing to their development where appropriate
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a science or health‑related subject
* Experience of clinical research
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Methodical and meticulous approach to data collection and documentation
The position is based at the Ninewells campus.
