Senior Storage & Backup Infrastructure EngineerContract£450–£550 per day (Umbrella)Newport 3–4 days per weekSC Clearance required (no dual nationals)
We are supporting a major programme via a leading consultancy and are looking for a Senior Storage & Backup Infrastructure Engineer to join a high-performing team delivering critical infrastructure services.
This role will suit an experienced engineer with strong NetApp expertise who is comfortable working across design, implementation and support within a secure, enterprise environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical design, implementation and support across infrastructure technologiesSupport pre-sales activity including solution scoping and effort estimationProduce high-quality technical and operational documentationEvaluate and integrate new hardware and software into the infrastructure estateManage and optimise storage environments including SAN, capacity, access and performanceProvide 2nd line support and ensure SLA adherenceSupport ongoing environment improvements and operational stabilityEssential ExperienceStrong NetApp experience is essentialProven background in infrastructure engineering within enterprise environmentsExperience leading small technical teams and delivering project-based workStrong understanding of infrastructure lifecycle, support models and customer impactExcellent documentation skills across both technical and user-facing materialsExperience working within structured project and support environmentsDesirableBroad infrastructure knowledge across storage, servers, networks or virtualisationExperience with SAN, file/print clusters or enterprise environmentsExposure to messaging or thin client environmentsExperience working to tight SLAsRelevant certifications such as MCSE or equivalentAdditional InformationSC Clearance is requiredDue to clearance restrictions, candidates must not hold dual nationalityHybrid working with 3–4 days onsite in Newport
