The Role As a Claims Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the claims process by providing technical and administrative assistance to the team. This is an entry-level, training-focused position ideal for someone looking to start a career in insurance. You will work under direct supervision during your probationary period, gradually building your knowledge and skills in claims handling and insurance operations. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of claims, maintaining up-to-date records, and supporting senior colleagues in delivering a high standard of service to clients and stakeholders. What You’ll Be Doing Coordinating claims under supervision, including setting up new notifications and maintaining accurate records. Reviewing and acknowledging new claims, and assisting in advising underwriters and clients. Providing administrative support to ensure efficient claims' processing. Managing assigned tasks and contributing to team projects as the need arises. Ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Supporting the collection and processing of fees and other relevant data. Maintaining effective communication with internal teams and external clients. Identifying and escalating issues or risks to senior team members. Keeping up to date with legal, regulatory, and industry developments. Participating in personal development activities and supporting team learning. Who We’re Looking For Some experience in an office environment is helpful, but not crucial. Curiosity about starting a career in insurance; prior insurance knowledge is a plus. A good standard of literacy and numeracy. Strong communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal. Computer literate with the ability to learn new systems quickly. Organised and able to manage time optimally to meet deadlines. Detail-oriented with a proactive and analytical mindset. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Professional, ethical, and committed to continuous learning.
