What to Expect in the Role:

We are pleased to present an excellent opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Compliance & Support Officer to contribute to the important work of our Private Sector Housing Team on a temporary basis.

This role plays a vital part in ensuring that all properties used for temporary accommodation meet required health, safety and compliance standards and are maintained in a suitable condition.

You will work closely with internal teams and external contractors to meet agreed objectives and deadlines, attend meetings both in person and via Microsoft Teams, prepare reports, and provide wider support to the Private Sector Housing Manager and the team.

A strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy are essential. The successful candidate will bring solid administrative experience, a methodical and organised approach to work, and the ability to build effective and professional working relationships.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

* Review and validate health, safety and compliance documentation for temporary accommodation, Next Steps properties and guest houses. Manage and progress disrepair‑related complaints within temporary accommodation and Next Steps properties, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution. Carry out site visits to assess the condition of temporary accommodation, Next Steps and guest house properties, including tasks such as enabling contractor access and reviewing completed works. Participate in ongoing training to build and maintain the skills required to review and validate health, safety and compliance documentation. Provide administrative and operational support to the wider Private Sector Housing Team as required.


What You’ll Need:

* Ability to manage and maintain health, safety and compliance documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legislative requirements. Strong coordination and stakeholder‑management skills, with experience working collaboratively with internal teams and external contractors. Competence in identifying non‑compliance issues, implementing corrective actions, and escalating complex cases appropriately. Proficiency in maintaining accurate records using systems such as Uniform and SharePoint, and producing clear and timely reports. Ability to undertake site visits, assess property condition, and support resolution of disrepair issues in line with service standards.
