Glasgow is a thriving and vibrant city with excellent opportunities to join us and contribute towards helping all our neighbourhoods flourish. The Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership is on a journey to radically change the way in which Social Work delivers support and services.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Social Worker to join our Citywide Hospital Social Work Team on a temporary basis. Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) is implementing the Discharge Without Delay National programme, collaborating with acute colleagues to maximize early referral and intervention from Social Work Services where appropriate.
You will be part of a team working across professionals and organizations in acute and community settings. Our focus is on person-centred and timely discharge via various pathways, prioritizing return home where possible. This role is challenging and fast-paced, with several service developments underway. We seek energetic, talented, resilient, and committed individuals to join us.
Applicants should have sound knowledge of assessment and care management, experience with ASP and AWI legislation, and practice in a person-centred manner. Confidence in managing risk and innovating to promote independence and connect people to the community is essential. A commitment to continuous professional development is also required.
Candidates must possess a Degree/Diploma in Social Work (or equivalent). Please refer to the Person Specification for full details on qualifications, skills, knowledge, and competencies.
Membership of the PVG Scheme is essential upon appointment, and successful candidates will need to pay for their PVG membership.
Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is mandatory. You should be registered or have applied within 3 months and registered within 6 months of your start date. Currently, local authority staff are not required to pay SSSC fees due to the local government pay deal.
These roles are excepted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing 12 May 2025.
