Job Summary
Woodside Haulage is the largest of 5 divisions of Woodside Logistics Group delivering full trailer loads across the UK and Ireland with depots in Ballynure, Dublin and Preston. This role will have full involvement in the planning and co-ordination of our fleet of trucks and drivers, distributing goods throughout the UK and Ireland while ensuring compliance with Road Traffic and Working Time laws.

Job Title: Transport Planner
Department: Woodside Haulage
Responsible to: Operations Director
Location: Ballynure
Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday, rotational shift patterns covering hours between 06.00 – 22.00
Requirement to cover: 1 weekend in 5.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with the ability to work well under pressure, within a team and on their own initiative. They will have the ability to build strong working relationships, creating a positive working environment and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
* Liaising with drivers and operations teams to ensure a high service level for customers.
* Ensuring drivers and vehicles are planned efficiently, maximizing delivery and collection performance.
* Accurate booking, monitoring, and updating of consignments on the Transport Management System (TMS).
* Ensuring accurate completion of all paperwork and that specific customer requirements are adhered to.
* Liaising with drivers and driver trainers to ensure completion of all relevant driver training.
* Liaising with fleet maintenance to ensure all vehicles and equipment are available for service and MOT when required.
* Liaising with ferry companies to confirm and secure bookings and sailings.
Essential Criteria
* At least 2 years’ previous experience working in a Transport / Traffic planning role
* High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
* Experience of using a TMS
* A working knowledge of Microsoft applications
