As a Graduate Fire Safety Engineer you will be working with our Fire Safety Engineering team, part of the Energy division. You will provide support to deliver challenging and engaging nuclear, defence and buildings projects. You will assist in the production of building fire strategies, fire and explosion assessments and the design of fire and explosion protection systems and arrangements. Job Responsibilities
As a Graduate Fire Safety Engineer you will assist in the production of building fire strategies, fire and explosion assessments, and the design of fire and explosion protection systems and arrangements for nuclear, defence and building projects.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Have completed an undergraduate or master's degree in Fire Safety Engineering or a STEM discipline by summer 2026.
* Technical document authoring experience (e.g. dissertation).
* Ability to work effectively within a team but also independently.
* Excellent organisation and time management – the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Eager to take ownership, ask questions and seek out opportunities for growth.
* Experience in design engineering of suppression, alarm and detection systems, primarily for building facilities (prior work or internship) – desirable but not essential.
* Exposure to building code and life‑safety code analysis (prior work or internship) – desirable but not essential.
* University‑level experience with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) modelling and analysis – desirable but not essential.
* A flexible self‑starter, keen to drive their career forward.
* Adaptable to change, with a thirst for learning new things.
* Have the permanent right to work in the UK.
* Completed your first degree no earlier than the summer of 2024.
* Not worked in a similar professional role since graduation.
* Achieved a minimum 2:2 in your first degree.
