Full Time: Fixed term/Secondment for 23 months
With effect from 01 April 2026, NHS Scotland is reducing its full time working week from 37 to 36 hours per week, there will be no change in full time pay.
Due to recent developments an exciting opportunity has arisen to work with specialist nurse colleagues in the award-winning drug redesign project team within primary care.
This post will provide support to primary care in the management of opiate and alcohol dependence by supporting the transition of people from the specialist services into GP care, ensuring continuity of care and providing support at points of crisis within a primary care environment.
You will provide holistic case management working across Dundee city as part of a friendly, highly supportive, innovative and forward-thinking team whose main focus is to care for people with opiate or alcohol problems. Staff will be fully supported to complete the training required to perform the clinical and psychological skills to support people in recovery. This post provides the opportunity to participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients with complex drug and/or alcohol dependence with emotional and psychological needs.
The role will involve a high level of liaison between Primary care and DDARS. Supporting people as required, working as part of a team that includes partner agencies. This will include effective teamwork and communication within a wide spectrum of multidisciplinary teams. The post holder will be responsible to the Health Inclusion Nurse Team Leader and defined governance structures.
You will proactively contribute to service delivery and developments to support the strategic objectives. The role requires a commitment to quality in governance and practice and excellent communication skills.
You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 UK NMC Register.
