Job Title: Principal Contracts Specialist P3
Location: Harlow or Glenrothes (Hybrid)
Summary of Role
This is a hybrid role supporting Raytheon locations in both Harlow and Glenrothes. As a valued contracts and commercial specialist, you will enable business growth by supporting the winning and delivery of profitable contracts. Your role involves making our company easy to contract with and ensuring smooth project delivery. You will provide contractual and commercial governance and advice to bid and project teams, support multiple contracts, and adapt to business needs.
Main Duties
1. Provide contractual and commercial support for bids and proposals, including RFPs and ITNs, aligning with company strategy.
2. Identify commercial risks, contribute to risk planning, and implement mitigation strategies.
3. Lead contract negotiations.
4. Manage contracts effectively, including change control and flow-downs.
5. Resolve commercial issues promptly.
6. Oversee financial aspects, including forecasting and milestone management.
7. Act as the commercial representative to customers, serving as the day-to-day contact and SME.
8. Champion change and continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience in reviewing and drafting contractual documents.
* Strong commercial awareness, understanding of business principles, and legal frameworks.
* Experience in managing commercial risks.
* Ability to respond to tasks with resilience and flexibility, working cross-functionally.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and collaborate effectively.
* Self-motivated, positive, and capable of working independently.
* Willingness and ability to travel occasionally.
* Previous contracting experience in the Defence sector.
* Certification in Commercial and Supply Chain Management.
* Ability to obtain SC security clearance.
* Proven problem-solving and dispute resolution skills.
* Experience working with international suppliers or customers.
* Financial management experience.
* Knowledge of Data Protection and relevant legislation.
* Familiarity with business process tools like IPDS, SAP, or similar, and the bidding process.
