Murphy is recruiting for an Engineering Manager to work with the Energy Team on the SSE ASTI Framework.

A day in the life of a Murphy Engineering Manager:
* Assist with temporary works design schemes
* Maintain good working relations with clients, designers, team members, and our supply chain
* Advise engineers on setting out methods and techniques
* Ensure that drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction; formally request missing information promptly to prevent delays
* Communicate with foremen and supervisors to ensure full understanding of provided information
* Oversee the selection and requisition of materials and plant for construction
* Prepare written risk assessments and method statements for work control
* Keep a detailed daily site diary, including changes, variations, subcontractors' attendance, and work-related discussions with the client, designer, and project team
* Ensure inspection and test plans are completed as per PMP/Specification, including dimension accuracy and quality checks

* Experience in major civil engineering or construction projects
* Experience with ITPs, RAMs, and Temporary Works
* Ability to communicate and present confidently to top management, senior clients, and the public
* Excellent knowledge of current civil engineering legislation, health & safety, and environmental regulations
* Ability to discuss engineering issues across various levels and disciplines
* Ability to produce, implement, and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures
