Overview

Aptean is seeking a Business Development Representative who will be based in our Sheffield office. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for potential clients, identify new sales opportunities, pitch Aptean’s products, and build lasting customer relationships.


Key Responsibilities

* Generate, qualify, and develop new business opportunities in defined target markets for specific Aptean product lines.
* Use outbound tactics such as cold calling, social media outreach, and email sends to generate a pipeline of leads from scratch.
* Conduct outbound prospecting and cold calling, including strategic company/vertical targeting and personalized campaigns.
* Create and execute e‑mail, direct mail, and outbound campaign initiatives.
* Nurture pipelines to generate opportunities over time.
* Qualify leads based on target market criteria and appropriate sales cycle stage.
* Manage and report on pipeline activity.
* Perform deep account/contact profiling.
* Assist at trade shows and events as required.
* Produce weekly lead generation reports using the provided tool.
* Communicate knowledgeably with senior management and articulate clear benefit cases.
* Travel may be required up to 40% of the time.


About you

* Early career experience in sales, business development, or customer service related roles.
* Self‑motivated, high energy, and dynamic inside‑sales with a strong online presence.
* Competitive personality with a track record of over‑achieving.
* Strong phone presence and ability to make dozens of calls per day.
* Attention to detail and commitment to process and data integrity.
* Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
* Creative and strong business acumen, able to communicate intelligently with senior contacts about their pain points and how Aptean’s solutions address them.


Nice to have

* Experience working with B2B software solutions.
* Outbound lead generation/business development experience is strongly preferred.
* Familiarity with sales tools such as SalesLoft, ZoomInfo, Vidyard, etc.
* Prior experience or ability to develop deep understanding of one or more target industries within a product line target market.
