Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Surveyor to join a social housing provider in the Sussex Region. This is a great opportunity to take on a variety of responsibilities within a dedicated team, working to maintain high standards of housing for residents. The focus of the role will be diagnosing and managing damp and mould issues, along with overseeing day-to-day repairs in social housing properties.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct damp and mould inspections and surveys in social housing properties, identifying causes such as leaks, condensation, and building defects.
2. Generate detailed reports with recommendations for remediation works, including moisture readings and photographic evidence.
3. Manage the completion of day-to-day repairs from diagnosis to resolution, ensuring all works meet compliance standards.
4. Collaborate with contractors, ensuring that work is delivered on time, within budget, and meets quality and safety standards.
5. Act as the main point of contact for tenants, managing their concerns and ensuring they receive the best possible service.
6. Ensure that all repairs and inspections comply with current regulations and health & safety standards.
7. Provide technical expertise and support to other teams, particularly on issues related to damp & mould and housing disrepair.
8. Keep accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and progress, and report findings to management.
Required Skills and Experience:
9. Solid experience in maintenance surveying within the social housing sector.
10. Strong background in diagnosing and resolving damp and mould issues and related defects.
11. Understanding of HHSRS, disrepair claims, and housing legislation.
12. Ability to manage day-to-day repairs and work with contractors to ensure work is carried out to a high standard.
13. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
14. Must be able to work under an umbrella arrangement.
