Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Cardiology department at NBT to join the Cardiac Rehabilitation team as a full-time Administrator.
Cardiac Rehabilitation offers ongoing care to people who have ongoing heart conditions or have experienced acute coronary events to help improve their health and well-being. This includes exercise programs and health education sessions intending to return to everyday life as efficiently and successfully as possible.

Main duties of the job
In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative service to our Cardiac Rehab nurses and supporting teams, coordinating the administrative support of their clinical activity.
Your Role Will Include
The management of incoming referrals, ensuring that suitable patients can access the service
The booking and monitoring of outpatient clinics, assisting in maintaining the efficient running of the program
Fielding inbound calls, giving patients a channel of communication to inform us of their needs whilst under our care
Providing office support to the team of nurses, provisioning time and assets to facilitate the smooth running of the department

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
Provision of secretarial and administrative skills to the Cardiac Rehabilitation nurse specialists and other members of the rehabilitation team.
Effective office administration through assisting in the organisation of office procedures and systems in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Service and assuming responsibility for ordering office supplies and stationery.
Efficient management of patient care by being fully proficient in the use of hospital IT systems, entering patient details and records into the hospital computer systems and databases, arranging and informing patients in a timely manner of their rehabilitation appointments and typing patient progress summaries for GP correspondence.
Close liaison with other departments in the hospital and community to ensure effective communication and running of the service.
Provision of support for the delivery of Cardiac Rehabilitation by preparing and assembling all relevant documentation and notes ready for clinics and rehabilitation sessions and offering efficient and courteous responses to telephone and personal enquires to the department
Filing Cardiac Rehabilitation notes into hospital medical records.
Ensuring own knowledge of Trust policies and procedures are accurate and current

Experience
Essential criteria
* Previous experience working in an office environment
* Previous experience working in administrative role
Desirable criteria
* Previous experience working in a healthcare setting
* Previous experience working with outpatient clinics
Educational
Essential criteria
* Minimum three GCSE, or equivalent, to include English Language and Mathematics
Knowledge
Essential criteria
* General IT systems e.g. Microsoft office package, digital calendars, e-mail inboxes.
* Office procedures and equipment
Desirable criteria
* Knowledge of Medical PAS systems
Skills

* Effective written and verbal communication
* Organisational skills
