Community Integrated Care is one of the UK's largest health and social care charities. We work hard to enriching the lives of people with many different care needs. Since the early days, we've grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. We have strong values and we're proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going 'the extra mile' for the people we support and in return, we go the extra mile for them by investing in pay, recognition, wellbeing and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us.
Who you'll be supporting & more about the role:
As a Female Support Worker, the role will be supporting 4 ladies who have learning disabilities, autism and mental health concerns with their daily routines and ensuring their safety is maintained overnight.
The ladies we support live together in a 4 bedroom bungalow in Crossmyloof in the Southside of Glasgow. This is a nice, quiet residential area near to Shawlands with good transport links by train and bus and a variety of amenities close by within the community.
The ladies have a shared car so the successful candidate must hold a UK driving license. The ladies we support enjoy spending time in their garden, especially in good weather, for BBQs and dinner outside and enjoy the summer house and keeping the garden nice with flowers and decorations.
Some of the ladies attend day centres and are active in the community, participating in activities such as bowling and going to the cinema. We are looking for a female Support Worker who is upbeat, confident and independent who can use their own initiative to plan activities.
Shift times vary from Monday - Sunday but are typically:
- 8pm - 8am (waking nights)
We are currently recruiting for a full-time role for 37.Sometimes the people we support really need a male or female person to support them. For this particular role, a female colleague is required. We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience. From people with vast experience in a support worker or care assistant role, from people with lived experiences who may have friends or relatives with disabilities or have looked after older relatives, to people with no experience at all.
We Enable, which are at the heart of everything we do and ensure that we deliver high quality, consistent care and support. Here at Community Integrated Care we aim to be a warm, welcoming and inclusive employer, where all colleagues feel they belong. We want to an organisation that is truly fair and equal to all - where individual diversity is valued, unique characteristics celebrated and everyone feels able to bring their true selves to work.
By encouraging and embracing a range of diverse backgrounds, experiences, capabilities and viewpoints, we will build a stronger, richer, more vibrant workforce, which reflects the people we support, and the communities in which we work. It helps us make better decisions, bring fresh ideas and become a true provider and employer of choice.
This publicly sets out the promises we've made to achieving this vision and how we will hold ourselves to account to getting there. Community Integrated Care is an Equal Opportunities and Disability Confident employer.
