Support Worker - Children's Contracts
Kent
£27,264 - £33,384 per annum
Full-time | Permanent (40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm)

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for Support Workers to join a dedicated and growing Children's Contracts team across Kent.



This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people leaving care, including unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people, as they transition into independent living. You will play a vital role in empowering individuals to build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve positive long-term outcomes.



Working as part of a supportive and collaborative team, you will manage your own caseload and deliver high-quality, person-centred support across a diverse geographic area.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage a caseload of young people within supported accommodation
* Provide practical and emotional support to those living independently
* Support the development of essential life skills such as budgeting, education, and daily living
* Work in line with individual pathway plans, ensuring progress and regular updates
* Liaise with social workers, local authorities, and external stakeholders
* Promote safeguarding and ensure all concerns are appropriately reported
* Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
* Conduct property visits to ensure health & safety and accommodation standards are met
* Support young people during move-ins, including inductions and settling into accommodation
* Participate in service development, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Provide on-call support where required

About You

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and making a meaningful difference.



Essential:

* Previous experience working with young people within a care or support setting
* Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently
* Willingness to travel regularly across a wide geographic area

Desirable:

* NVQ Level 3 in Children's Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
* Knowledge of the Children's Act and relevant social care legislation
