<div><h3>Neurodevelopmental Practitioner</h3><p><b>The closing date is 29 June 2026</b></p><p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Neurodevelopmental Practitioner to join our Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team in the beautiful county of Cornwall. We are looking for an Occupational Therapist or Speech and Language Therapist who has experience working with, supporting, and carrying out assessments for children and young people with neurodivergence, including autism and ADHD.</p><p>This post is part‑time; we will consider adjustment to those hours for the successful applicant, and/or a flexible working pattern. The post is based in East Cornwall to support the team with neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people living in that area. Working will generally comprise a combination of working from home and in clinics.</p><p><b>Interviews Date: TBC</b></p><h3>Main duties of the job</h3><ul><li>Deliver specialist Autism and ADHD assessments, and wider assessments as part of differential diagnosis.</li><li>Work with a wide range of professionals within our Multi‑disciplinary team including SLTs, OTs, Psychologists, Nurses, Paediatricians, and Neurodevelopmental practitioners.</li><li>Collaborate with colleagues in teams across agencies in a consultative, advisory and collaborative capacity (e.g., other CFT services, Cornwall Council, RCHT, Education colleagues).</li><li>Present assessment information in MDT diagnostic discussions and consider holistic information alongside colleagues to identify how it relates to the DSM‑V criteria for Autism, ADHD and other ND conditions.</li><li>Teach and support students on placement from the range of professions within the multi‑disciplinary team.</li><li>Advise the service lead/team manager on issues of service delivery relating to the specialist clinical area.</li><li>Represent the neurodevelopmental assessment team appropriately at inter‑disciplinary or inter‑agency forums as required.</li></ul><h3>Person Specification</h3><h3>Education, Qualifications and Relevant Experience</h3><ul><li>Professional qualification and registration with HCPC/NMC.</li><li>Minimum of degree‑level training with evidence of additional training relevant to neurodevelopmental disorders and development.</li><li>Direct clinical experience of assessment and working with autism, other neurodevelopmental disorders, and with children and young people with complex conditions and needs.</li></ul><h3>Knowledge and abilities</h3><ul><li>Knowledge of differential diagnosis and comorbidities associated with neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., ASD, ADHD, Tic disorders, DCD, Learning disabilities, trauma and attachment difficulties).</li></ul><h3>Eligibility</h3><p>This post is currently only open to people who already work for the NHS in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly.
