2 x 30 hours per week - Permanent. Flexible working considered. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced podiatrist to join our team. The role involves work in health centres and in the community, including patients at home, care homes and local hospitals. Podiatry Severn covers the Worcester City and Malvern area of Worcestershire, with emphasis on the high-risk foot. A special interest in wound care and MSK would be beneficial.
The ideal candidate will be a team player, committed to providing high quality patient care, able to work independently and as part of a team. Enthusiastic, highly motivated and with a strong work ethic. You will be confident in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of the lower limb, with knowledge of disease processes relating to the foot and lower limb for all patient groups. Ability to network and liaise with other health care professionals would be advantageous. Knowledge of MSK and competence with nail surgery is also a requirement. You will have opportunities to take part in nail surgery on a rota basis and to shadow and work with the Multi-Disciplinary Foot Team and MSK specialist team to develop skills.
Main duties
* Assess, diagnose and treat high-risk patients in clinic and domiciliary settings; liaise with GPs and other health care professionals.
* Triage referrals appropriately; provide education to patients and empower self-management.
* Mentor students and apprentices as required.
* Perform nail surgery and be part of the department rota; provide offloading and orthotic devices where appropriate.
* Place patient care at the centre of service delivery and strive for high-quality outcomes.
Be proactive in personal development and team improvement, and foster positive working relationships with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

Job Description and Person Specification
Responsibilities and criteria are provided in the attached job description and person specification. Essential knowledge, experience and qualifications include:
* Sound knowledge of the management of the high-risk foot; knowledge of clinical governance.
* Postgraduate experience/training in podiatry (high-risk foot, diabetic foot at risk, Biomechanical/Msk assessment, diagnosis and management).
* Ability to challenge poor behaviour; able to work independently and as part of a team; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* A degree or equivalent in Podiatric Medicine; HCPC registration; certificate in administration of local anaesthetics; ongoing professional development evidence.
* Flexible approach to duties and travel requirements of the role.
