Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Registered Midwife
2. Evidence of continual professional development
3. Educated to a minimum of higher diploma/degree level/able to demonstrate evidence that is working at degree level/commenced degree pathway
4. Supervisor/Assessor training OR Teaching /mentorship qualification ENB998/997 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
5. Recognised leadership course/qualification
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
6. Recent clinical experience
7. Experience facilitating training sessions
8. Experience of clinical audits
9. Sound knowledge and experience of all aspects of midwifery practice
10. Extensive experience of working as a clinical midwife with Acute intrapartum experience
11. A detailed working knowledge of national guidelines and current research relating to the care of repair of perineal/labial tearing during childbirth, and risk factors for and protective factors to reduce incidents of OASI
12. Knowledge of issues around safeguarding children and adults
13. Knowledge of strategic developments in midwifery, locally and nationally
Desirable criteria
14. Management of pelvic health in pregnancy and postnatally
15. Experience or interest in colorectal health
16. Budgetary management experience
17. Audit experience
18. Experience in project management
19. Experience of involvement in successful change management
20. Good understanding of Quality Improvement methodologies and processes
