Our Swimming Teachers are vital to the delivery of the Swim School and School Swimming programmes at the centres. The lesson programmes are important for community engagement and contribute to the centres' financial viability, supporting other programming activities.
As a Swimming Teacher, you will plan and deliver fun, engaging, and educational lessons following our scheme of work and guidance from relevant National Governing Bodies. You will also assist with routine checks, housekeeping standards, and customer safety, especially for the class members in your charge during lessons.
We seek individuals who enjoy regular interaction with customers and can do so in a warm and welcoming manner. You will often be the team member with whom customers build relationships and trust, and therefore you will have significant responsibility for representing LeisureSK professionally and efficiently; remaining calm in difficult situations, proactively addressing issues where possible or reporting them immediately to management.
Swimming Teacher Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
1. Delivering an excellent quality teaching service.
2. Maintaining the standards of the Swim School brand according to procedures.
3. Planning, executing, and evaluating structured programmes using the ASA Learn to Swim Pathway.
4. Updating Swim School records (currently Learn2) with attendance and assessment data.
5. Ensuring all activities are fun and promoting a positive image of the Swim School and the Company.
6. Supporting other swimming-related activities to provide a quality development programme.
7. Continuing professional development and staff training to improve technical knowledge.
8. Identifying pupils suitable for exit routes to performance and excellence pathways.
9. Providing high standards of customer care with a warm and welcoming manner.
10. Understanding responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act and ensuring safety procedures are followed.
11. Being aware of the PSOP.
12. Understanding and being familiar with the Emergency Evacuation Procedure.
13. Performing other reasonable tasks as requested by management.
14. Attending all scheduled team meetings and training events.
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires an Enhanced DBS check and a check of the Adults & Children’s Barred Lists before appointment.
