We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, well-rounded and committed Science Teacher to join a high-achieving and supportive secondary school in Bournemouth. This full-time, permanent role begins January 2026, offering an excellent opportunity for an ambitious science specialist to teach motivated students within a well-resourced and forward-thinking environment. About the Science Department The Science Department is thriving, dynamic and central to the school’s academic success. About the Role • Teaching Science across KS3–KS4, with potential for KS5 depending on experience and department need • Planning and delivering engaging theory and practical lessons that stretch and support learners of all abilities • Leading safe, well-organised practical investigations that encourage students to think like scientists • Supporting exam preparation through targeted revision sessions, intervention programmes and effective feedback • Contributing to curriculum enhancement, resource development and departmental improvement projects • Playing an active role in wider school life, including STEM clubs, enrichment days and trips where appropriate This role offers a real opportunity to shape the learning experience of students and to contribute to the continued success of the department. Experience and Qualifications • Degree in a Science discipline (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Physics or related field) • PGCE with QTS (or equivalent recognised teaching qualification) • Strong subject knowledge and confidence teaching across the KS3–KS4 Science curriculum • Excellent practical teaching skills and understanding of laboratory safety and risk assessment • Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues, and to inspire interest in Science Salary MPS/UPS, dependent on experience.
