Uniform Education is recruiting an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teacher for a specialist school in West Drayton. The school provides tailored education for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
About the Role:
As a SEN Teacher, you will:
* Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEN
* Differentiate the curriculum and use creative approaches to make learning accessible and enjoyable
* Implement strategies to support pupils’ communication, sensory, and emotional regulation needs
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents to achieve EHCP outcomes
* Use approaches such as TEACCH, PECS, or Makaton to enhance communication and engagement
* Foster a positive, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
* Monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings and reviews
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
* Proven experience teaching pupils with SEN in a special or mainstream setting (essential)
* Knowledge of Autism, SLD, or PMLD (desirable)
* Excellent classroom management and differentiation skills
* Patient, empathetic, and creative approach to teaching and learning
* Strong teamwork, organisation, and communication skills
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply via Uniform Education)
