Children's Home Residential Support Worker (Rotational Position)
Park Blue Homes has an exciting opportunity for a Rotational Children's Home Residential Support Worker to join our company in the Swindon / Chippenham / Bath area.
This is a great opportunity to join a progressive and trauma-informed group of Children's Homes with a focus on upholding the values and guidelines of a Therapeutic Community. This is a Rotational role, meaning you will work flexibly across different Park Blue Homes in the region, providing essential support where it is most needed. You will be supporting a 4-bed residential home in Swindon / Chippenham / Bath area, specialising in care for young people with learning difficulties and emotional and behavioural difficulties, as well as other homes within a reasonable commuting distance. The successful person will therefore need to be able to commute easily to multiple locations.
Salary: £27,846 per annum, plus bonuses, pension, and other benefits. 32 shifts annual leave plus 3 paid wellness shifts per year. Other contracts are available including 21-, 28- and 35-hour weeks, these are paid pro rata.
Paid sleep-ins are £63/night which, included at one per week, gives an average Rotational support worker salary of £31,122 not including bonuses or overtime.
Shift patterns are 07.30–21.30 (two shifts). Six shifts per week, 42 hours. The role will include working alternate weekends. The average week is three long days and four days off. This can be very flexible and support workers can choose to work morning or afternoon shifts only or a combination of both half and full days.

As a Rotational Children's Residential Support Worker, you will:
* Provide high-quality, trauma-informed care across more than one Park Blue Home, offering consistency and stability for our young people.
* Support young people with EBD and learning difficulties, adapting to different teams and home environments.

Main Duties (Rotational Role):
* To be involved with the implementation of a range of quality therapeutic services for young people across different Park Blue Homes.
* Ensure that all children and staff working within each Home are effectively safeguarded at all times.
* Adapt quickly to different teams, routines, and children's needs while upholding the values of a Therapeutic Community.
* Support the Homes in exceeding the standards set out in the Children's Home Regulations 2015 and other relevant legislation.
* Promote relationships as central to practice, working empathetically with young people, families, professionals, and external agencies.
* Lead by example, role modelling best practice across different staff teams.
* Promote effective teamwork and contribute positively to staff wellbeing programmes, especially when supporting new or unfamiliar teams.
* Participate in recreational events and assist with daily living tasks (cooking, washing, cleaning, etc.) across different Homes.
* Engage in reflective practice and supervision to maintain a therapeutic focus in all settings.
* Ensure paperwork is accurate, reflective, and evidences children's progress in whichever Home you are working.
* Maintain compliance with Health and Safety, finance, and company procedures in every Home.
Skills and Qualifications
* Experience in Residential Children's Social Care is an advantage.
* An understanding of Trauma Informed Care and therapeutic background or the willingness to learn.
* A working knowledge of PACE and effective understanding of what a therapeutic placement looks like for children is advantageous or a willingness to learn.
* Effective communication skills with a very nurturing side and strong interpersonal skills.
* A Level 3 NVQ diploma in Residential Childcare or be willing to work towards this.
* UK Driving License.
* Confidence and Understanding of The Children's Home Regulations and all legislation associated with the running of a registered Children's Home, research prior to interview would be advantageous.
* Confidence when dealing with people, the ability to challenge.
* A clear DBS and positive references from all companies where you have worked with children or vulnerable adults.
* The ability and strength of character to deal with challenging situations in a non-consequential and nurturing way with the confidence to set appropriate boundaries and implement the communities' policies and procedures.
