The Role: Ensure students are on task and staying focused in lessons Use de-escalation techniques to support children displaying challenging behaviour and diffuse difficult situations Supporting the class teacher throughout the day and have input into next steps for the children following lessons Supporting students inside and outside of the classroom Provide academic and emotional support to students with behavioural difficulties and SEN needs - ADHD, SEMH and EBD To nurture students and build positive relationships so they respond well inside and outside the classroom Help students to be accountable for their own learning Be a true role model and able to inspire students in different aspects of their learning Requirements: Previous experience working with SEN and supporting children displaying challenging behaviour Experience working in a SEN school, alternative provision or PRU would be an advantage Have worked with SEN children previously or in a profession with transferrable skills such as care work/ military/ support workers/ counsellor/ therapist/ social worker Previous experience of working with people of any age in challenging situations Confident in your ability to build relationships with students and support children displaying challenging behaviour Resilient, hardworking and committed to making a difference in the lives of young learners Supply Desk can offer you: Competitive rates of pay Recommend a friend bonus scheme Out of hours on-call service Day to day or long term assignments Supply Desk is working in partnership with Buckinghamshire Local Authority and represent a host of opportunities in Buckinghamshire.
