Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officer
Term time, 38 weeks per annum
Part time, 25 hours per week
Salary: £15,062 per annum (£26,527 pro rata)
Burton on Trent, Town Centre Campus
Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for learner safeguarding needs.
* Take part in College-wide safeguarding activities such as staff or learner training, reports, administration and meeting attendance.
* Communicate effectively with learners, parents, young people and other professionals; work cohesively as a team and with external partners.
Requirements and qualifications
* A Level 2 qualification in Safeguarding is essential, or a willingness to work towards this.
* Qualified to, or willing to work towards, Level 2 English and Maths. Evidence of qualifications is required.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to hold compassionate and empathetic conversations in sensitive or challenging situations.
Desirable attributes
* Passion for helping young people and adults, with experience working with vulnerable people to positively improve outcomes.
* Ability to work well within a team and with parents, young people and other professionals.
