Job Description
We are seeking a skilled SEN Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with severe special educational needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), in a primary school setting. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about special education, inclusion, and making a positive impact on childrens learning and development.
Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with severe SEN and ASD.
* Assist pupils using PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and Makaton to support communication.
* Implement TEAM TEACH strategies for safe behaviour management.
* Support teachers in classroom management, lesson delivery, and inclusive learning activities.
* Monitor and report on pupils progress, engagement, and wellbeing.
Person Specification
1. Experience working with children with severe needs, SEN, or ASD.
2. Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, TEAM TEACH, or behaviour management techniques.
3. Patient, compassionate, adaptable, and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a school team.
