Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fire Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fire safety systems and engineering principles. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving skills to design, build, and maintain effective fire protection systems. The Fire Engineer will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Duties
* Design and develop fire protection systems including alarms, sprinklers, and suppression systems.
* Create detailed schematics and CAD drawings to illustrate system designs.
* Conduct site assessments to evaluate fire hazards and recommend appropriate solutions.
* Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to integrate fire safety measures into building designs.
* Utilise power tools and hand tools for the installation and maintenance of fire safety equipment.
* Perform regular inspections and testing of fire protection systems to ensure functionality and compliance with regulations.
* Provide technical support during the construction phase to ensure adherence to design specifications.
* Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and standards related to fire safety engineering.
Requirements
* Proven experience in fire engineering or a related field is essential.
* Proficiency in CAD software for system design is required.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of electrical systems.
* Familiarity with building codes, fire safety regulations, and industry standards.
* Ability to read and interpret schematics effectively.
* Experience using power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
* A degree in Fire Engineering or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
