Intervention Worker – Children with Disabilities Location: Tameside Service: Children with Disabilities Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping families achieve the best outcomes? Tameside Council is looking for an enthusiastic Intervention Worker to join our Children with Disabilities Service. About the Role As an Intervention Worker, you’ll: Assess the needs of children with disabilities at an early stage. Co-ordinate and commission tailored support plans. Carry out reviews, visits, and direct work with children and their families using a variety of communication methods. Build strong, open relationships with children, parents, and carers, encouraging full participation in planning and decision-making. Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and with partner agencies. Keep accurate, up-to-date records and present clear written and verbal information to panels and other agencies. Contribute to service development and policy reviews. You’ll receive regular supervision and be part of a supportive culture where staff are valued, listened to, and encouraged to innovate. About You We’re looking for someone with: GCSEs (Grade A–C / 4–9) in Maths and English (or equivalent). A full driving licence. Experience working jointly with other agencies. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures. Skills in needs and risk assessment. Ability to engage and communicate effectively with children with additional needs, their parents, and carers. Good IT and report-writing skills, plus an understanding of the Children Acts (1989 & 2004), the Adoption Act 2002, and Working Together guidance.
