Overview
Christchurch Girls’ High School | Te Kura o Hine Waiora is seeking a passionate and positive head of the Māori department. This is a full-time permanent position. Applicants must be able to teach te reo Māori to our senior students and understand the requirements of NCEA. The successful applicant will also be confident in upholding tikanga Māori.
Responsibilities
* Lead and advise on culturally responsive organisational practice to support Māori to succeed as Māori.
* Support Māori ākonga, whānau, iwi, and communities, working alongside leaders of learning and the pastoral team to enhance care and uphold high expectations for all Māori ākonga.
* Prioritise relational and responsive culture and shape a future-focused curriculum.
* Foster a team spirit of collaboration among staff and engage in reflective practice.
* Contribute to and participate in the corporate life of the school, school-wide co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, and events.
Role Details
This role comes with 2 MUs, 1 MMA and 6 hours release time per fortnight.
