Stamford School is offering an exciting opportunity for recent Sports Graduates with ambitions in teaching and coaching to join a one-year programme, beginning in September 2026. The role is open to graduates of Sports Coaching and Sports Science degrees, as well as experienced coaches, who can provide leadership within our extensive cocurricular programme, with a particular focus on major sports. Both residential and non-residential opportunities are available, and boarding duties form part of the role.
Stamford School will endeavour to support applicants in their professional development through the sports provided within the school. Interest in one or more of the following areas can also be supported through the one year programme; video analysis, strength and conditioning, and sports nutrition. The programme will have an emphasis on taking a major sport each term and gaining experience in teaching and coaching within the curriculum and co-curricular program.
Candidates may be invited to apply for a supported PGCE, apprenticeship, or second year, in the Autumn term. A formal process will begin after Christmas with the offer of places to start in September 2027. At the end of the programme Stamford School would normally expect successful applicants to further their careers in other schools or sporting institutions.
