Teaching Assistant – Year 3 (Part Time)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 1:30pm
We are seeking a reliable and caring Teaching Assistant to join our friendly primary school in central Preston, supporting learning in a Year 3 class. This is a part-time role, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 1:30pm, and includes welfare cover responsibilities.
The role involves providing general classroom support, working alongside the class teacher to support pupils’ learning and wellbeing. Due to the needs within the class, experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) would be highly advantageous.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting teaching and learning within the Year 3 classroom
* Providing welfare support to pupils during the school day
* Working with small groups and individual pupils as required
* Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
* Promoting positive behaviour and a safe, inclusive learning environment
The successful candidate must:
* Have recent childcare or classroom-based experience
* Be nurturing, patient, and adaptable
* Have strong communication and teamwork skills
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable:
* Experience working with pupils with SEN

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
