Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Building Safety Manager in London. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, managing fire safety improvement measures, and ensuring residents feel safe and supported throughout the process. You’ll be part of a specialist Building and Fire Safety Team dedicated to managing structural and fire safety matters across a varied housing portfolio.
Key duties:
* Take ownership of building safety cases by gathering and reviewing building plans and technical information to assess risks and ensure compliance with legislation
* Manage fire safety improvement measures arising from FRAEWs, FRAs, and other specialist assessments from start to finish.
* Quality assure surveys and liaise with consultants to deliver specialist building assessments and corrective actions.
* Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, fire engineers, and contractors during assessment, specification, and on-site works.
* Attend project meetings with contractors to oversee the delivery of fire safety improvement works and resolve compliance issues.
* Support resident engagement in high-risk buildings, responding to queries and ensuring concerns regarding fire safety works are recorded and addressed.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation related to inspections, compliance, and resident communications.
* Coordinate access for essential inspections, surveys, and equipment testing.
* Ensure implementation of Safety Management System controls for all building safety works.
* Stay informed on current safety regulations, codes, and best practices to provide technical support to colleagues.
* Attend resident meetings as required to provide updates on safety and compliance.
Client requirements:
* Minimum Level 3 Qualification and a CIOB Level 6 in Building Safety Management or equivalent.
* NEBOSH Risk Assessment or equivalent qualification.
* Strong technical knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022, Building Regulations, fire doors, and compartmentation.
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in Building Safety Management, with a proven ability to take ownership of safety issues.
