Job Description
UI/UX Designer – Digital Front Door Platform
Location:
Home Based
Contract:
1 Year Fixed Term
Employer:
Ramsay Health Care UK
At Ramsay Health Care UK, we're building something that matters: a
Digital Front Door
that makes healthcare simpler, more accessible, and more human. We believe technology should reduce stress, not add to it, especially when patients are navigating some of the most important moments in their lives.
That's where you come in.
We're looking for a
UI/UX Designer
who can blend creativity, empathy, and technical know-how to design experiences that empower patients, support clinicians, and bring clarity to complex healthcare journeys.
What You'll Do
* Shape the experience of our Digital Front Door, crafting patient-first interfaces that make accessing care seamless and intuitive
* Dive deep into user research - interviews, usability testing, and journey mapping - to understand real patient needs, from those with high digital confidence to those who may struggle online
* Design for accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), ensuring patients of all abilities can use our platform across devices and browsers
* Work side by side with clinicians, translating medical workflows and safety requirements into clear, simple, usable design solutions
* Build and evolve a design system and component library, balancing consistency with scalability
* Create personas and journey maps that reflect the realities of healthcare: urgency, anxiety, and emotional complexity
* Prototype and refine critical flows like registration, appointment booking, and health record access, optimising for trust and ease
* Partner with developers to bring designs to life, ensuring fidelity from concept to code
* Continuously test with patients and clinical staff, using feedback and analytics to iterate and improve
* Keep patient privacy and data protection at the core of every design decision
About You
You're not just designing screens, you're designing peace of mind. To thrive in this role, you'll bring:
* Experience as a UI/UX Designer with a strong portfolio showing user-centred design in action
* A solid grasp of accessibility and inclusive design principles
* Comfort with user research methods and turning insights into actionable design
* Proficiency in modern design/prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
* A collaborative mindset, able to work with developers, clinicians, and stakeholders
* (Bonus) Experience in healthcare or other highly regulated industries
Why Ramsay?
* Work on digital solutions that truly impact lives, helping patients feel informed, supported, and in control
* Join a supportive team in a global healthcare organisation with a strong local presence
* Competitive salary and benefits, plus flexible/hybrid working options
* Opportunities to grow your skills and career while shaping the future of digital healthcare
