We are pleased to be recruiting to a trauma specialist 8a psychological therapist post (0.8 wte) to work within our multi-modality therapy team in secondary care for adults with moderate‑severe mood, anxiety and personality disorders.
The post holder will be an experienced clinician for service users with PTSD and complex PTSD offering trauma‑focussed CBT (may additionally be experienced in EMDR), also with significant experience using CBT for adults with moderate to severe mood and anxiety disorders.
The post holder will have experience of line managing and supervising junior psychologists trainees, as well as offering consultation and link‑working with colleagues.
The successful applicant will demonstrate experience and skill in working with PTSD and cPTSD with adults in secondary care with moderate‑severe presentations, using trauma‑focussed CBT, as well as other mood and anxiety disorders. The role requires supervision and line management of more junior psychologists and trainees. The post holder will contribute to service audits and development projects, and consultation within the team and to other professionals.
Responsibilities
* Deliver assessment and therapy alongside other Clinical/Counselling Psychologists.
* Work across modalities including Cognitive Analytic Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
* Provide line management and supervision of junior psychologists and trainees.
* Link‑work with CMHTs to provide consultation, teaching, co‑working.
* Participate in team days, especially Wednesdays.
* Contribute to service audits, development projects and consultation within the team.
Qualifications
* Experience working with PTSD and complex PTSD with adults in secondary care.
* Proficiency in trauma‑focussed CBT, and experience in EMDR optional.
* Experience using CBT for moderate‑to‑severe mood and anxiety disorders.
* Line management and supervision experience of junior psychologist trainees.
* Ability to contribute to service audits, development projects and consultation.
Development opportunities
* Provide a highly specialist psychological interventions to adults in secondary care with moderate to severe mood, anxiety and personality disorders.
* Contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.
* Provide clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate, functioning as a specialist in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
* Promote service evaluation, audit and research.
* Work as an autonomous professional within registration body guidelines and codes of conduct, and guided by principles and policies or procedures of the service, taking responsibility for interpreting policies within defined parameters.
* Agree outcomes/results with clinical/professional lead and decide how they are best achieved.
* Be active in the provision of staff support within their area, including but not limited to Critical Incident Staff Support and Reflect‑Support‑Resolve. To participate, as a recipient, in staff support work when appropriate.
