Support Worker, British Sign Language

Job Summary:
Completely Care Ltd are recruiting for an experienced Agency Support Worker with fluency in British Sign Language (BSL). You will provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals who are Deaf, hard of hearing, or who use BSL as their primary language. Your role will involve supporting service users in various settings, including supported living environments and in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct care and support to individuals with varying needs, including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health conditions, and/or sensory impairments
• Communicate effectively using BSL to support individuals with their daily routines, activities, and personal goals
• Assist with personal care, medication, mobility, and meal preparation where required
• Promote independence, choice, and dignity in all aspects of support
• Build trusting and respectful relationships with service users and their families
• Keep accurate records and complete documentation in line with care plans and regulatory requirements
• Adapt communication and support styles to meet the unique needs of each individual
Requirements:
• Fluent in British Sign Language
• Experience working with Deaf individuals or within Deaf communities
• Previous experience in a care or support role (desirable but not essential for the right candidate)
• A genuine passion for supporting others and making a positive impact
• Reliable, empathetic, and professional approach to work
• Ability to travel to different placements as needed
Due to the nature of this role, it is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
