What You Will Do
* Prepare medical devices and equipment for daily use, including washing, packing, and inspecting all ranges of medical devices before sterilisation and processing for surgery.
* Undergo full training in decontamination, sterilisation, and Quality Management.
* Lead a small team, complete annual appraisals, return‑to‑work conversations, and train junior members.
* Identify, classify, and inspect reusable medical devices.
* Reprocess specialist equipment and perform repairs and maintenance.
* Handle returned medical devices, recognising them as potential infectious hazards, and manage receipt, sorting, and preparation for cleaning and disinfection.
* Maintain the safety and integrity of medical devices during the wash cycle.
* Conduct function testing, inspection, and assembly of reusable medical devices, and manage packaging, selection, sealing and labelling.
* Record and document all required processes, including sterilisation of reusable medical devices, test regimes and post‑sterilisation measures.
* Provide in‑house HR training for appraisals and well‑being conversations.
* Liaise closely with Theatre staff to ensure customer service is met at all times.
Shifts and Hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8am & 8pm, with weekend and bank holiday rotation on a rotational basis.
Requirements
* Good communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and under own initiative.
* Supervisory experience necessary, leading a small team, completing annual appraisals, return‑to‑work conversations and training junior members.
* Willingness to work weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.
