The Neurodevelopmental Diagnostic Service Lead will be responsible for leading and directing the neurodevelopmental diagnostic multidisciplinary team. This leadership role involves collaborating with key stakeholders and working as part of the Barnet Community Paediatric Service, with a focus on positively impacting the lives of children and their parents/carers during the diagnostic process.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Designing, recruiting, and managing the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
2. Building effective working relationships with partner agencies, specifically community integrated therapies and CAMHS.
3. Leading service development in collaboration with the NCL ICB service transformation project team.
4. Overseeing governance, including clinical effectiveness, quality and safety performance, and risk management.
5. Applying advanced clinical judgment and knowledge of neurodevelopmental conditions to lead diagnosis management and service leadership.
6. Maintaining responsibility as a clinical expert for high-quality patient care.
7. Ensuring clinical outcomes and patient experience are central to service design.
8. Promoting evidence-based practice within the team and reviewing policies accordingly.
9. Innovating practice in neurodevelopmental diagnosis within the Trust and the wider NCL team.
10. Leading education and training for the MDT locally, across the Trust, and within the NCL network.
11. Supporting staff development through mentorship, advice, and training.
12. Enhancing the profile and reputation of the Royal Free service at both regional and national levels.
