Friends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing excellent care with a family feel. The charity has been supporting older people for over 120 years and provides care home and day care services, as well as grants for older people in financial difficulty.
About the Home
Redcot is a residential care home on the outskirts of Haslemere, Surrey. The focus is to help older people live fulfilled lives, whether staying long term or for respite.
Responsibilities
We are searching for a Care Home Manager to work with the management team and be responsible for the day-to-day running of the care home. You will provide leadership and line management to the care home team, drive continuous improvement through effective monitoring and proactive management, and deliver financial sustainability for the home.
You will ensure residents receive safe, effective and personalised care that enables them to live fulfilling lives and stay connected with their communities. You will lead a culture of collaboration, openness and embed safeguarding and best practice across the home. You will meet all regulatory requirements and uphold the charity’s values of respect, equality, diversity and inclusion, while championing staff wellbeing in everything we do.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting older people to live well. You will be experienced in leading and managing a team of staff and ideally have proven leadership experience in a similar role.
To Be Successful you’ll Need To Have
* NVQ 4 or 5 / QCF 5 in Health & Social Care or working towards
* Experience complying with care and other regulatory frameworks
* Ability to communicate and liaise with representatives of health and social care organisations and local/national government bodies
* Good performance managing and reporting skills
* Excellent care provision across care homes with and without nursing, including dementia care
* Good communication skills—verbal, written, listening, questioning
* Strong understanding of adult safeguarding and related issues
* Knowledge of HR policies and processes
* Strong understanding of the Health and Social Care Act and CQC regulations
* Understanding of person-centred care and conditions affecting people in later life, including dementia
