Senior Fieldwork / Farm Machinery Operator

Location of the Job:
North West of England - Lancashire.
Salary and Benefits Package:
Paying £35,000 - £40,000 salary per year, depending on experience.
Discretionary bonus of up to 1.5 months' salary.
Company pension scheme.

The Job Role Details:
Reporting to the company Owner, as the Senior Fieldwork / Farm Machinery Operator you will carry out fieldwork operations like groundwork, spraying, and weeding, and support the Owner in effective running of the farming operations.

* Carry out spraying operations on 200Ha of brassica production, including all documentation and record keeping for legal and customer requirements.
* Groundwork, weeding operations, and management of other contractors.
* Operate farm machinery and equipment.
* Support other farm operations - harvesting and yard work.
Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:
You will have / be…
* PA1, PA2, PA4 tickets.
* FLT trained.
* BASIS is highly desirable but not required.
* Experience working in a horticultural or brassica farming operation.
* Experience operating farm machinery and equipment.
* Good with administration tasks, sufficient detail focus but pragmatic approach.
* Willing to work hours required to ensure jobs are completed in best conditions i.e. working weekends/mornings/evenings as required.
* Self-starter, able to work under your own initiative.
* Good working knowledge of Assurance schemes, and Pesticide legislation.
* Good commercial understanding of, and interest in field vegetables.
* Calm problem solver.
