Role: Phonics Intervention Specialist

Location: Prescot (L34)
Pay Rate: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)
We are seeking a Phonics Intervention Specialist to deliver targeted support to children in Early Years and Key Stage 1 who need additional help with their phonics knowledge and early reading skills. This part-time, temporary role is ideal for a skilled teaching assistant, intervention teacher, or phonics-trained practitioner with experience delivering high-impact interventions.
This Prescot-based primary school is a welcoming, community-focused setting that values inclusivity, kindness, and high standards for all pupils. The Ideal Candidate:
* Have experience delivering phonics sessions in a primary school or EYFS setting
* Have strong understanding of early reading development and intervention strategies
* Be able to work collaboratively with class teachers, SENDCO, and support staff
* Be organised, reliable, and proactive in managing time and pupil records
* Have excellent communication skills and a nurturing, supportive approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
