This is key to enabling us to deliver on the promises we\\\'ve made to the people of Wales to build a sustainable transport network that meets their needs.Role responsibilitiesDevelopment operations (DevOps) engineers support the development and operation of our cloud environment through tools, environments and practices whilst remaining responsible for underpinning fundamental development process including; managing tools and testing environments, central code control, maintaining development standards and writing code that automates our cloud environment. Build and maintain public cloud infrastructure by using a mix of IaaS and PaaS resources, deployed via Infrastructure as Code (built in terraform) to deliver a secure, scalable cloud platform in line with TfW\\\'s Cloud Principles. Utilise existing build and release pipelines in Azure DevOps through TfW\\\'s CI/CD principles drawing on knowledge and technical experience in these areas to ensure that deployment of resources are repeatable, secure and highly available. Act as an escalation point to service delivery teams by providing specialist guidance and advice through detailed debugging and analysis to enable the timely resolution of complex service impacting issues. Leverage low code technologies to design and build process flows to automate manual processes in line with Cloud Principals to optimise operational efficiencies. Who we\\\'re looking for Technical Expertise: Exposure and/or theoretical knowledge of Microsoft cloud and DevOps technologies, including one or more of: Azure PaaS (e.g. Azure Front Door, API Management, App Services) Azure IaaS (e.g. Virtual Machines, Containers, Virtual Networks) Azure DevOps (e.g. Boards, Repos, Pipelines, Test Plans) DevOps Practices: Awareness of Build and Release Management, code repositories and version control systems. Stakeholder Management: Ability to communicate technical subject matter to a non-technical audience. Learning and Development: Have a passion for learning best practices for Cloud Engineering. Welsh Language Skills The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills.
