Senior Engineering Manager – Electrical
Location: Liverpool.
Contract: Full Time.
Role Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership and management of multidisciplinary engineering teams delivering estates and engineering services.
* Maintain full compliance with PFI contractual obligations, statutory requirements, and HTMs/HBNs, ensuring the highest standards of health and safety.
* Hold ultimate accountability for all engineering maintenance and contracted works, ensuring delivery to required standards and specifications.
* Act as Lead Authorised Person for designated disciplines, enforcing safe systems of work and compliance with Mitie Authorised Person matrices.
* Provide specialist technical expertise and professional engineering advice to senior management, directors, and wider Mitie teams.
* Develop and implement site‑wide engineering strategies, risk management plans, and lifecycle programmes, including PPM systems, plant inventories, and asset data accuracy.
* Lead and support inspections, specialist surveys, lifecycle planning, budgeting, and option appraisals.
* Participate in Estates on‑call rota, providing senior leadership, technical direction, and emergency response when required.
* Maintain effective communication with Trust stakeholders, senior Mitie leadership, regulators, and external bodies including NHS Estates, HSE, Fire Brigade, and consultants.
* Manage, develop, and mentor engineering staff, supporting recruitment, competency assurance, training, and succession planning.
* Contribute to Plan Thrive social value commitments and foster a positive, inclusive culture aligned with Mitie values.
Required Qualifications
* Relevant engineering or facilities management qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, IWFM or equivalent).
* Proven senior technical leadership experience within FM or healthcare environments (HTM 01-08).
* Authorised Person (AP) status (desirable).
* Strong understanding of electrical engineering systems, statutory compliance, and Safe Systems of Work.
* Experience managing audits, NCRs, compliance action plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
* Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
* Strong leadership capability with a proactive, compliance‑focused mindset.
