We are delighted to be recruiting a passionate and driven PE Teacher to join a progressive and supportive secondary school in Shaftesbury. This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced practitioner or an enthusiastic ECT looking to launch their teaching career in a positive, student‑centred environment.
About the Role
As a PE Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring students to develop a lifelong love of physical activity. Your responsibilities will include:
* Delivering engaging, well‑planned PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
* Promoting teamwork, resilience, fitness, and positive attitudes towards sport and wellbeing
* Providing an inclusive PE curriculum that encourages participation and builds confidence in all learners
* Monitoring and assessing student progress, supporting both physical development and personal growth
* Contributing to the ongoing development and enrichment of the PE curriculum
* Supporting or leading extra‑curricular sports clubs, competitions, fixtures, and enrichment activities

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
* A qualified PE Teacher with QTS, or an ECT nearing completion
* Confident teaching PE at KS3 and KS4
* An effective communicator with strong subject knowledge
* A positive role model who motivates students to achieve their best
* A team‑oriented professional who values collaboration
* Skilled at building positive relationships with students of all abilities
Essential Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Strong subject knowledge in Physical Education
* Ability to teach PE confidently across KS3 and KS4
* A clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
