Key Responsibilities

As a Primary Teacher in Whitechapel, your responsibilities will include:

* Planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality lessons across the curriculum in line with the National Curriculum

* Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports the academic and personal development of all pupils

* Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities, including SEN, EAL, and higher-achieving learners

* Using assessment to track pupil progress and inform future teaching and interventions

* Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement

* Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development alongside academic progress

* Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and senior leadership to implement targeted interventions

* Participating in pupil progress meetings, curriculum planning, and school-wide initiatives

* Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress, achievements, and concerns

* Keeping accurate records of pupil performance, behaviour, and assessments

* Actively participating in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and other professional development opportunities

* Upholding safeguarding, child protection, and school policies at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a Primary Teacher who:

* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

* Has experience teaching in KS1 or KS2 (ECTs welcome)

* Demonstrates excellent classroom management skills and applies positive behaviour strategies consistently

* Is committed to inclusive education and supporting pupils from diverse backgrounds

* Can differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of all learners

* Is reflective, proactive, and committed to ongoing professional development

* Has strong communication and interpersonal skills with pupils, parents, and colleagues

* Works collaboratively as part of a professional teaching team

* Is passionate about making a lasting difference in pupils’ learning and development

Experience supporting pupils with SEN, EAL, or additional learning needs is highly desirable but not essential.
