As the Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the 6-bed home, ensuring high standards of care and a focus on promoting the independence and well-being of the young people in your care. You will lead a team of staff, driving positive change, improving outcomes for the children, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities of the Registered Manager: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the 6-bed learning disabilities children’s home, ensuring a high standard of care and support for each individual resident. Lead, manage, and mentor a team of care staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities to ensure excellent care delivery. Develop and implement care plans tailored to the needs of each young person, ensuring a holistic approach to support, development, and safeguarding. Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding requirements, and quality standards, creating a safe, nurturing environment for young people. Collaborate with external professionals, families, and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care and support. Foster a culture of positive behaviour support and person-centred care, promoting independence and life skills for young people with learning disabilities. Manage staffing, rotas, budgets, and resources to ensure the smooth running of the home. Provide leadership and guidance on complex issues, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents, particularly in challenging or crisis situations. Qualifications and Requirements: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is essential. Proven experience as a Registered Manager or in a similar leadership role within a children’s residential setting, specifically with young people with learning disabilities. Strong knowledge of child development, learning disabilities, safeguarding practices, and relevant legislation. Excellent leadership and management skills, with experience in team development, coaching, and performance management. Sound understanding of regulatory requirements and experience of ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young people, families, staff, and external agencies. Ability to handle complex situations with professionalism and sound judgment.
