A position has arise to join an ever growing company for 3 days a week as a SVQ Assessor and Verifier.
The successful candidate must;
* Must hold a recognised Assessor and Verifier award.
* Have experience of delivering SVQ’s in Adult Care/Children & Young People.
* Must hold occupational competency within Health and Social Care/Childcare.
* Organisational skills are a must, as well as the ability to plan your time effectively.

Purpose of the job:
To work with the staff team to assess and verify staff undertaking their SVQ qualification. To ensure that Workplace Assessors conduct assessment for Awards which are valid, reliable, and consistent and conform to the company policies. To promote and maintain high standards of social care and community care practice.
Key Work Areas:
* To sample, scrutinise, approve, and monitor all work related to the assessment of candidates for Scottish Vocational Qualifications and Core Skills.
* To assist with the organisational arrangements for this purpose.
* To attend internal verifier and assessor meetings to standardise portfolios within the assessment centre.
* To assess candidates when required, as identified by the Internal Verifier.
* Visiting candidates in the workplace and assessing them as part of their qualifications to ensure the successful outcome for the SVQ in line with contractual requirements and targets.
* Prepare, agree, and review assessment plans with each candidate. Create candidate portfolios to agreed target standards and ensure they are submitted on time.
* Visit candidates either in person or remotely at least once per month within the workplace to provide support, prepare action plans, undertake assessments, and provide feedback on performance.
* To assist other members of the Learning and Skills Department to prepare workplaces, recruit candidates and provide induction training courses for candidates.
* To assist other members of the Learning and Skills Department to identify the ongoing training needs of candidates for assessment and of Workplace Assessors.
* Where appropriate, to contribute to training programmes, particularly those linked to assessment for Awards, the development of portfolios and the integration of quality standards into practice.
* To collect data relating to candidates for the use of management and for submission to awarding organisations.
* To support cross agency partnership in training provision.
* To refer to the Internal Verifier in the first instance, operational problems encountered by candidates or Workplace Assessors which prevent fair and equal opportunity of access to assessment before or during the assessment period.
* To meet with External Verifiers as required.
* To maintain records required by the Awarding Body including verification records of units verified, verification feedback records, records of visits, and records of units achieved.
* Efficient and effective operation of the assessment process in line with centre policy relating to quality and the requirements of the awarding body representatives.
* Carry reviews with candidates to discuss progress.
* Manage and maintain candidates’ folders in line with audit requirements.
* Assist with development of the provision to ensure the programme is up to date.
* Promote, encourage, and support progression routes.
* Maintain knowledge of funding streams and eligibility criteria.
* Undertake Health and Safety checks for candidates on programme.
* Ensure all Equal Opportunities policies and Health & Safety requirement are fully complied with, and all candidates are given fair access to assessment.
* Maintain annual record of CPD, minimum 30 hours (pro rata).
* Participate in and support the annual self-assessment process.
* Attend and participate in meetings as required.
* Represent the company at relevant events and generally support the marketing strategy.
* Take responsibility for adult / child protection and promoting the welfare of all candidates with whom you come into contact.
* Any other appropriate duties identified by employer.
