Hills Waste Solutions have an opportunity available for a Divisional Director – Commercial and Industrial Waste Collections to join our team based in Swindon with operating sites across Wiltshire and surrounding counties. About the role: As a Divisional Director, you will plan, lead, organise and control the profitable operation of the Hills’ commercial waste collection business. The successful candidate will expand and develop the commercial waste business into new geographical and/or service areas, driving increased growth and profitability, whilst effectively managing in line with agreed budget targets. Your key responsibilities as our Divisional Director will include: • Prepare annual cost budgets in accordance with targets determined by the Board. • Evaluate and where appropriate, recommend changes in strategy, policy or procedures, with a view to increasing profitability and efficiency. • Recommend and implement sales strategy for the commercial waste business, managing the activities of the Sales Manager and the sales team to ensure the business is developed in line with the strategy and agreed targets. • Update the Divisional Managing Director on new developments in the sector and make recommendations for beneficial change. • To hold the company operator’s licence as required and assist in ensuring compliant transport operations. What we’re looking for in our Divisional Director : • Previous experience in senior level roles within the waste industry. • Experience with direct P&L accountability, with a proven record of successful sales and revenue generation. • Skilled at managing efficient vehicle routing, as well as planning and negotiating vehicle purchases. • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong active listening skills and the ability to communicate with people of all skill levels and abilities. • A customer centric approach.
