Associate Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services Design
An established building services engineering consultancy based in South Croydon is looking to appoint an Associate Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level engineer ready to step into a leadership role and help shape the direction of the electrical design function.

The consultancy is known for delivering innovative, energy-efficient engineering solutions across both new-build and refurbishment sectors.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of electrical design across multiple projects, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with relevant standards.
* Manage and mentor junior engineers, supporting their technical development.
* Undertake full electrical design duties including lighting, power, containment, fire alarms, security systems, and renewable/low‑carbon technologies.
* Collaborate with mechanical teams, architects, contractors, and end clients from concept through to completion.
* Produce drawings, specifications, reports, and calculations using industry-standard software.
* Provide technical leadership during client meetings, design reviews, and site inspections.
* Drive best practices in sustainability, net‑zero approaches, and modern building services design.
About You
* Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering, or equivalent experience.
* Chartered or working toward Chartership (CIBSE, IET or similar).
* Strong background in building services consultancy, ideally covering both new-build and refurbishment work.
* Confident leading projects and teams, with excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
* Proficient with relevant software such as Amtech/Trimble, Dialux/Relux, and AutoCAD; BIM/Revit experience is beneficial.
