Job Purpose:
The Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a welcoming and professional environment. This role ensures the smooth operation of the front desk by managing appointments, handling inquiries, and supporting clinical staff with administrative tasks.
Location: Blackley
Pay Rate: £12.51ph
Hours: 12:30pm - 6:30pm - Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays
A Standard DBS Certificate is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction:
Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
Answer phone calls, emails, and respond to inquiries promptly.
Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate patient records and update information in the system.
Process payments, issue receipts, and manage billing queries.
Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence.
Compliance & Confidentiality:
Ensure patient confidentiality in line with GDPR and practice policies.
Follow health and safety protocols within the reception area.
Support to Clinical Team:
Prepare and manage documentation for consultations.
Assist with prescription requests and referrals as directed.
Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting (preferred).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in using practice management software and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of medical terminology (advantageous).
